The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met twice last week with several items to review.
After discussion, the public hearing for the fiscal year 13-14 Guthrie County was set for March 12th.
Information was provided regarding the additional charges that would affect the health insurance premiums and it was decided to rescind the previous 9% across the board increase and instead approve a 7% across the board increase.
The Iowa Counties Information Technology (ICIT) group gave the board a general technology assessment for Guthrie County. There were 10 areas of concern at a critical level. The board asked the group to give them recommendations for network engineers that could come in and look at the situation and give a proposal to address the issues found.
The board then unanimously voted to postpone the sale of bonds for the Diamondhead Sanitary District.
The letter of intent to regionalize mental health services as presented by Diane Jackson was also approved pursuant to the passing of Senate File 2315.
Finally, organizer Grant Sheeder spoke about preparation for this year’s River Ruckus. He informed the Supervisors that then the event is profitable he makes donations to the fairgounds, which is in addition to the money they make from camping reservations. Kris Arrasmith reported that last year her 4-H group helped clean up after the River Ruckus and the money made was donated to the fairgounds and the canine fund.
