The public is invited to attend the annual Greenbrier 4-H Basketball Tournament this Sunday at the Scranton Gymnasium.

Greene County 4-H Youth and Families Coordinator Sarah Jo Reynolds says that of the 11 4-H clubs in the county, nine will be participating this year.

“4-H’ers are the only ones involved and they’ll play against each other.  The tournament will be set up ahead of time and in 2012 our champions were the Junction Food Producers.”

Reynolds comments that it was a fun experience last year for both the kids and the public who came and watched the games.  She says that every year the Greenbrier 4-H Club puts on this event to bring all the 4-H clubs in the county together as a kickoff to another year.

All 4-H clubs must bring their own basketballs for warm-ups.  The tournament will start around 1pm on Sunday.  Contact the extension office at 386-2138 for more information.
