The  start of the high school boys’ track and field season is later today for the Greene County Rams. Coach Dean Lansman’s Rams will have 16 athletes at the Iowa State University high school indoor meet at the Lied Student Recreation Center in Ames. Teams from all over the state will be competing in a variety of events, but no team score will be kept.

The Rams, and many other teams, have been limited by the cold and snowy weather in their early season training.

The Greene County girls were scheduled to compete indoors at Ames yesterday, but Greene County did not have school due to the snow, and Coach Kelly Simpson’s squad did not make the trip.

The outdoor season is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 25 when the Rams host a number of other schools at Linduska Field in Jefferson at the annual Early Bird meet.
