The Jefferson City Council met last night in regular session.
The council approved a bid for the ACC Overlay Project. Fort Dodge Asphalt was the lowest bid at $221,995.75 to resurface Washington Street from Vine Street to Locust Street and Locust Street from Washington Street to Lincoln Way.
The council discussed and recommended a specific portion of land that Hy-Vee wants to acquire by the intersection of Washington Street and Vine Street to be placed into the urban renewal plan for the TIFF fund.
City Administrator Mike Palmer updated the council on a couple of items. He presented a light and dark ribbon from Peg Raney, chairperson of the Relay for Life of Greene County to place them all around the square leading up to their event on Saturday, April 20th. He then reported to the council that the club house of the Jefferson Municipal Golf Course will be getting new carpet square laid in for a total of $5,000.
The meeting ended in a budget workshop. The total amount for the general fund is $2,259,660. The total amount for expenditures is $2,339,965 and the total amount for capital improvements is $110,500.
The public hearing has been set for the budget on April 9th at 5:30pm in the City Hall Council Chambers in Jefferson.
