Lately, the Stuart Police Department has received numerous calls regarding dogs running at large; or with an owner, but not on a leash. Chief of Police David Reha would like to give the public a friendly reminder that Stuart City Ordinance 55.03 states it is unlawful for any owner to allow an animal to run at large within the corporate limits of the city.
The Stuart Police Department asks pet owners to please help out by keeping your dog on a leash while walking and do what you can to keep your dog from getting out of your property. Chief Reha realizes that sometimes animals will be animals and get out; and in those situations the police department will try to work with the owners and get the dog back.
Chief Reha explains that recently he’s received numerous calls of dogs getting out and acting aggressive towards other dogs or people. Please be considerate of others Chief Reha added.
