Water mains will be flushed by the Jefferson Water Department starting on Monday and will finish on Tuesday.

Raccoon Valley Radio has already reported Monday’s locations and here are Tuesday’s locations.  From 8-11:45am it will be Lincoln Way south to Westwood (from Grimmel Road going West to Bauer Addition), then Harrison Street south to Brackett Street (from Highway 4 going West to Grimmell Road) and Monroe Street south to Garfield Street (from Highway 4 going East to Cedar Street).

The last two locations are Park Street south to Greenewood Road (West of Highway 4) and East of Highway 4 from Park Street south to Ram Drive from 1-4pm.

Water Department Supervisor Thomas Schilling says that during Monday and Tuesday’s water mains getting flushed, the public is encouraged to not wash white clothing due to the brown iron color possibly staining them.  If you encounter discoloration during the wash cycle, then contact the water department to get a special detergent to remove the stain before you dry white clothes.
