April 14 through the 20 is recognized as, National Library Week and Panora Public Library has a week full of fun activities for the community. Monday they will announce the adult reading program winners, with the first prize being a Kindle Fire. Tuesday they will host an open house from 1 to 5 P.M. to preview their four new iPads. Two of the iPads will be available for checkout by adults and the other two will stay at the library for the children to use.
Library Director, Kim Finnegan, says the funding for these iPads was garnered within a few months through the libraries Memorial Money. Wednesday the children will be treated to a movie, “The Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dog Days” at 5:30 P.M. Thursday from 2-3 the Panorama Gardens will give a presentation about gardening and the gardening season. Finally, the week will conclude with a 10 A.M. story hour.
The American Library Association says that, “libraries give us a place to come together, and this week is National Library Week, so make a point to stop by yours, communities matter at your library.”
