April is National Autism Awareness Month and the Greene County High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America are having a fundraiser to celebrate it.
FCCLA Advisor Nicole Vansickel says her students are selling Autism puzzle piece pins and ribbons to recognize Autism Awareness Month. Each donation of $1 will go to a local Autism Society.
She points out that the high school club did this fundraiser four years ago and wanted to bring it back.
FCCLA does other fundraisers for causes like pink pastries in October for breast cancer and shipping donated items to troops overseas or adopting a family during Christmas time.
Vansickel points out that the most important reason why they have this particular fundraiser is to help the community better understand what Autism is and showing compassion for those living with it.
