As we told you, last week was celebrated as National Library Week, and the Stuart Public Library, ran a book checkout campaign

Director of the Stuart Public Library, Sandy Pollard, says “this is not your grandmothers library, we are very good about keeping up with the national trends.”

The library also offers you the opportunity to view some great art exhibits, this summer coming back to the Stuart Public Library is an artist from Southern California.

The campaign they ran for National Library Week was very successful, “we checked out around 500 books, which was way higher than our total of 291 checkouts last year, during National Library week” they will continue celebrating National Library Week with an amnesty act,  “for this week you can bring back items that are overdue, and we will forget the fines”

Pollard says, “we want a teen advisory board, to tell us what they want from us, books, activities, what do they want from the library.”

Lots of changes are coming to the Stuart Public Library, and residents should be on the lookout for all these fantastic changes and more.
