The Boone boys track team held off Perry Monday night by a mere 2 points at the 2013 RRC Track and Field Meet held at Carlisle.  The Torreadors finished with 96 points while Perry was second with 94 and ADM 3rd with 88 in a very balanced field.

The Bluejays set the tone in the field events, starting with the discus. Walter Juarez finished 1st with a throw of 131-7 1/4.  The Bluejays went one-two in the long jump with Ben Daniels winning with a leap of 21-3 1/2 and Will Whiton second with a leap of 21.  Whiton won both the 100 and 200 meter dash.  Will finished in a time of 11:25 in the 100 and 23:06 in the 200.  Atem Akook won the 800 meter dash in a time of 2:00:09.  The Bluejay 4×800 meter relay won the event in a time of 8:22.63.  Victor Trinidad, Cory Fellom, Atem Akook and Christian Morales.   The Perry Sprint Med finsihed second in 3:50.79. (Jans, Daniels, Fellom, Morales)  The Perry 4×400 finished second as well (Morales, Daniels, Fellom, Akuk)

 

ADM’s Tate Jensen won both the 110 and 400 m hurdles.  Jordan Grove was second in the 100 meter dash and Grant Gayden third.

 

Perry and ADM advance to the state qualifying meet this Thursday night in Winterset.
