The Greene County High School concert band and three choir groups competed at state large group contest at Huxley last week.

High School Band Director Becky Greiner says her concert band received a division I rating.  She states that for close to her 25-year career with the ram school district, only three times has her concert not received a division I rating.  The high school mixed choir also earned a division I rating.

At the contest, schools compete against themselves for a rating.

The band performed two selections which were both played at a recent awards concert night at the high school in April.  She comments that the kids favorite song to play is “Fate of the Gods” by Steven Reinecke because it builds tension to a war-like scene and finishes in a peaceful state of mind.
