Police Chief Dave Morlan says at 3:47pm on Wednesday, 15 year-old Chaz Harvey of Grand Junction was traveling westbound on Monroe Street and lost control of his 2006 Harley Davidson Motorcycle trying to turn south onto Wilson Street and flipped over the handlebars of the vehicle.

Chief Morlan states that Harvey suffered road rash to his face and had to be transported to the Greene County Medical Center for treatment and evaluation due to the head injury.  He notes that Harvey wasn’t wearing a helmet and was released later that day.

Chief Morlan explains that since Harvey is 15, he doesn’t have a full or intermediate license but just a learner’s permit with a restriction of a left outside mirror must be present on the vehicle he is operating.  Harvey was cited for failure to maintain control.
