The Perry City Council met in regular session last night.

At the meeting Carnegie Library volunteer John Blast shared information about the many displays and events they have coming up this summer including a bicycle display in honor of the Raccoon River Valley Trail grand opening and Kids Fest, both next month.

After no comments during a public hearing the Council then approved the annual budget amendment which will not result in any increase in the City levy.  A public hearing was set for the next Council meeting on June 3rd in regards to the Owner Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program and Community Development Block Grant.

Next a facilities services agreement with G&K Services out of Des Moines was approved for mats at the McCreary Community Building at a cost of $20 per month.  Amy Rathje was then appointed to the Water Works Board of Trustees, filling a vacancy left by the resignation of Lori Lott for a term that goes until April 1st of 2015.

The Council also approved the addition of Cory Atkins to the Perry Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to the regular business, the Council had a chance to look at 3-D models of proposed informational kiosks at the Brownfield site.
