Perry Jayette second basemen Lindsey Kunch had a day any ball player would dream of. The leadoff batter for the Jayettes put together a two game stretch Saturday at the Paul and Mary Ann Graves Classic that will go down as one of the best in Perry history. In victories over Prairie Valley and Guthrie Center, Kunch went an improbable 8-8 with 5 extra base hits. She hit her first varsity homerun against Guthrie Center, along with providing 3 doubles and a triple. She scored 6 runs and knocked in 4.
“Lindsey is really seeing the ball well now, Perry Coach Tina Kenney stated, ‘It was great to see her have that type of day. Not too many players can boast of a type of roll she was on. To get on base safely 8 consecutive times and to have them all be hits is what impressed me the most. Lindsey has worked hard on her game and I am glad she continues to improve.”
Kunch is hitting 464 this year with one home run and a team high 7 rbi’s from the top of the order.
Perry will travel to Greene County tonight for softball action.
