The 34th annual Bell Tower Festival in Jefferson drew in several more people due to it also celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln Highway, but the Jefferson Police Department handled the normal amount of incidents as it has in the past.

Police Chief Dave Morlan says that each night of the festival there are three extra officers on patrol along with one extra Sheriff’s deputy.

Chief Morlan says nothing was out of the ordinary compared to other Bell Tower Festivals.

“Pretty much normal.  We don’t usually have a lot of extra activity or a lot of arrests.  Guys are pretty patient and try to avoid that if they can.”

According to police reports, there was only one public intoxication incident, an under drinking situation and a public fight by Wet Goods that were the major issued the officers had to handle.
