A large Boy Scout Camp in Dallas County is celebrating its 90th anniversary this weekend.
Camp Mitigwa is located just north of Woodward and this weekend they’re holding a large outdoor event to kick off the summer camp season.
A variety of ceremonies and activities are planned including a 1923 camp re-enactment, hikes, a ribbon cutting, dinner, oldest living camper and staffer awards and a campfire.
Field Director Todd Eipperle says they’re excited to show off the camp to current and former scouts and leaders. He says while many facilities have improved over the last 90 years, the timeless values and appreciation for the great outdoors continues for generations to come.
The event takes place at the camp at 1820 Magnolia Drive and begins at 3pm.
