The Hiawatha Amateur Radio Club is taking over Pattee Park in Perry again this weekend.
It’s their 3rd annual Amateur Radio Field Day. “Ham radio” operators from Perry and the surrounding area will set up their equipment at 1pm Saturday and operate for 24 straight hours to see how many contacts they can make.
The event is part of the American Radio Relay League’s annual Field Day where more than 35,000 radio amateurs operate from remote locations throughout the country.
Everyone is invited to check out this unique form of communication and maybe even make a contact or two themselves.
It takes place in the large shelter house at Pattee Park. For more information contact Bob Dittert at 465-2383.
