The Greene County Board of Supervisors met yesterday.

The Board approved $1,000 from the Louis Dreyfus funds to the Jefferson VFW for the Freedom Rock project.  Other items approved were confirming the referendum date of August 6th for the special casino election, appropriate 85% of funds to county officers and departments and employee salaries and wages for the 2014 fiscal year.

All firework permits were approved by the Supervisors and a contract with Radix for the county recorder’s document at $480 per year down from the current contract of $612 per year was also approved.

The Supervisors reviewed and gave permission to move forward with Michael Pearson’s expansion project of his current operations in Paton, going from 2,500 to 4,960 square feet.  County Sanitarian and Zoning Tim Healy said the preliminary matrix scoring was at 525.

During the county treasurer’s report, there was $5,355,881.81 invested for May and 237 driver’s licenses were issued.  The total amount collected was $3,198.

The Board then approved to have two miles of drainage district 33 cleaned out.  County Drainage Supervisor Michelle Fields said once the project goes to MHF Engineering for an estimate and the cost is less than $20,000, the county can pay for it to have it done, otherwise it will be contracted out.

The Board finished the meeting discussing Branch F of drainage district 110 with INS from Spencer, Iowa.  The overall project includes providing a relief system for the current drainage tile.  The Board decided to set up an informal hearing with the public and affected landowners for August 12th.
