Abby Koch is another Greene County fair queen candidate.

She is the daughter of Ryan and Mary Jo Koch.  Another senior high school graduate of the class of 2013, Koch has been involved in the high school volleyball, basketball and track teams, along with band and choir and was a member of the Greene County Foundation Board.

Koch says she wants to be this year’s county fair queen because she wants to represent Greene County and all the positive elements it has including being proud of the small successful business structures.

She states that one of her favorite parts of the county fair is watching all the cattle shows because she used to participate in that when she was a part of 4-H.

Koch talks about what her and the other candidates get to do the night of the coronation ceremony on Friday night.

“Well we get all dressed in our prom dresses and the judges ask us some more questions when we’re all together and then they go back and deliberate and then they come out and announce who is the Greene County fair queen.”

Her college plans are to attend DMACC in Ankeny this fall for one year and then transfer to Iowa State University, University of Iowa or University of Florida for business administration.
