ADM Coach Jason BookThe reigning Raccoon River Conference champion, ADM Tigers baseball team is looking to have a better start to the postseason tournament this year.

Last year, the Tigers nearly lost to Saydel.  They had to come back to beat the Eagles 6-4 by scoring four runs in the sixth inning.

First year head coach Jason Book talks about keeping his guys focused on tonight’s first round opponent, Perry, who gave them their only loss in the conference this season.

“We are focused on, just the game ahead of us, the team that is in front of us at this time and that happens to be Perry.  So, we’re going to play them as long and as hard as it takes to get a win.”

On June 12th, the Bluejays beat ADM 6-3 while the Tigers claimed victory on May 31st with an 8-0 win.

Coach Book says Perry likes to play “pressure” baseball.

“They get runners on early in an inning, they’re going to start bunting and running and trying to put a lot of pressure on you.  We handled that very well the first night, the second night we played them, they didn’t have to bunt because they scored a bunch of runs early and were able to hold on and we couldn’t come back.”

The 27-9 ADM Tigers will host the 17-16 Perry Bluejays tonight in Adel for the second of two games with Gilbert playing Nevada in the early 5pm game.  You can hear tonight’s game on both KKRF and KDLS starting around 7pm.
