This year’s River Ruckus in Guthrie Center promises to be better than ever!
According to River Ruckus promoter Grant Sheeder, the July 26th and 27th event will be more fan focused, “Actually go to our website, guthriesriverruckus.com and you will see all of our changes we have made for this year. From our big screen, to our stage being higher. Our lanes to get beer and beer tickets are a lot different. A lot more fan oriented this year not like last year.”
The annual River Ruckus is located at the Guthrie County Fairgrounds in Guthrie Center. This year the gates will open at 4 pm on Friday and show starts at 7 pm and Saturday’s entertainment starts at 6 pm.
River Ruckus isn’t just about enjoying some big name entertainment, it also helps our local businesses according to Sheeder, “It makes quite the impact not only on Guthrie County but counties surrounding. We get people coming from all different directions staying at hotels, stopping at gas stations, at the grocery stores…Stuart businesses along the way. One thing that keeps us going is we get a lot of ‘Thank You’ letters in the mail from these businesses, not just Guthrie County…. appreciating what we are doing and that is pretty gratifying.”
Friday night will kick off with Brad Morgan, Casey Donahew Band, Chris Cagle and Big & Rich. Saturday night continues will some great talent such as Granger Smith, Josh Thompson, Gretchen Wilson and Hank Williams Jr.
Tickets can be purchases at HomeTown Foods in Guthrie Center, Panora and Stuart. Camping and tickets can be purchased through www.midwestix.com.
