The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met yesterday in regular session.
Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright discussed with the Board the results of the RAGBRAI visit to Guthrie Center. The only issue that was encountered was the bikers taking up the whole road and there were a few bikes that went down. Other than that there were no problems according to Arganbright.
Next, Arganbright discussed the plans for the Sheriff’s office and officers stationed at this year’s River Ruckus. Also, there will be a cellular tower set up to ensure that cell signals are not lost. Chief Deputy Jeremy Bennett went over the parking areas and the camping areas, which were already mostly occupied. JAG Juvenile Alcohol Grant officers will also be assisting to ensure that everyone is safe and to assist with any underage drinking.
County Treasurer, Marcia Schreck showed the board the property that the county had acquired the certificate for due to the fact that it had become two years delinquent on taxes. Schreck wanted to know if she had to have the Board’s approval before making a decision on whether to sign over the certificate to Judy Zimmerline for $10 plus back taxes.
The Board agreed that Schreck would not need their approval for such action.
The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors meet every Tuesday and Thursday at the Courthouse and the public is invited to attend.
