Runners and walkers are invited to take part in the annual Adel Sweet Corn Festival 5k next month.

The race takes place on the scenic brick streets of Adel along the parade route and hundreds of spectators.

Those who sign up before the end of the day tomorrow can participate for $25 and late registration increases to $30.

The 5k starts at 8am Saturday August 10^th, with packet pick up the night before at the hold middle school or between 7 and 7:45am on race day.

The starting line is at 11^th and Court Street.  Racers and supporters are encouraged to park at the Adel DeSoto Minburn High School and transportation to the race location will be provided starting at 6:45am.

Prizes will be awarded for 1^st through 3^rd place overall in both the men’s and women’s categories, along with the top 2 men and women in each age group and the best corn-related costume.
