Thanks to the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences and the academic departments, five area students received college scholarships.
Junior Elizabeth Hagan from Bayard, received the following scholarships: Mildred D. Bradbury Scholarship-College of Human Sciences, Naheel Jeries Scholarship-Department of Human
Development and Family Studies, and Katherine Bruntlett Annin Scholarship-College of Human Services.
Another junior Julia Hagan also from Bayard, received the Honors Scholarship-College of Human Sciences.
Leslie Chalfant, a senior from Guthrie Center, received the Darlene & Edward Kobes Dance Scholarship-Department of Kinesiology.
Sophomore Michelle Allison from Panora, received the Miller Endowment Scholarship-Department of Human Development and Family Studies.
Felicia Felder, junior, from Yale, received the Smith/Anderson Family Scholarship-College of Human Sciences, Geraldine Bentler Scholarship-Department of
Human Development and Family Studies.
Dynette Mosher, director of alumni relations at ISU College of Human Sciences says, “Each student filled out an application and then the application was reviewed by the scholarship
committee. Each application was evaluated on their leadership skills, extracurricular activities, honors and awards as well as work experience.”
Mosher adds that over $800,000 were given out to the students.
