Greene County 4-H’ers are busy preparing their exhibits and livestock for the Iowa State Fair that begins tomorrow in Des Moines.
There are 23 4-H’ers taking a static exhibit to the state fair and will have their projects on display at the 4-H Exhibit Building on the state fairgrounds. The most entries the county will send are from photography with seven girls who qualified from the county fair in July. Sean Kenan will take five projects to the state fair in ag and natural resources, science, technology and engineering, food and nutrition and home improvement.
There are also 31 4-H’ers headed to Des Moines for livestock shows totaling 37 entries. The state fair exhibitors just have to enter to show their animals at the state fair, they do not have to qualify from the county fair.
Greene County Extension Youth and Families Coordinator Sarah Jo Reynolds is very proud of all the 4-H’ers this year and wants to thank all the volunteers for making this year’s county fair a success.
