The Stuart City Council held a special meeting on the last Monday in July to approve six agenda items.
According to city administrator Ash Ashour, a special meeting is called when “something needs action taken on and can not wait till regular meeting.”
The Council approved the first item, which was a two million bond for general obligation annual appropriation purchase to assist with street projects, etc.
The Council also approved payment to Godbersen Construction Company for the work done on South 7th Street for approximately $22,000, along with the purchase of computers for the Stuart Police Department not to exceed the amount of $6,000.

Liquor licenses were approved for the following businesses: Stuart Speedway for outdoor sales for Rocktastic, The Catering Connection – Cultural Center and Johnny’s Tap for outdoor sales for August 10th.
Street Commissioner Jim Henderson informed the Council that repairs would be taking place this week in the Pelgrow business area of Stuart.
The Stuart City Council meets every second Monday of the month at City Hall at 6 pm and the public is invited to attend.
