Greene Co. SupervisorsThe Greene County Board of Supervisors met yesterday in regular session.

The Board hired Steven Cort as a full time jailer.  Sheriff Steve Haupert said he was already working as a part time dispatcher and has all the training needed to be a full time jailer and the Board agreed to pay him $13.50 per hour.  The Board also approved hiring Garrett Riedesel as a part time jailer.

The Supervisors then heard a Genesis Development and mental health update with CEO Terry Johnson and county central point coordinator Diane Jackson.

Johnson said he was pleased with how the different events have been going in each of their sites, including Jefferson, celebrating their 40 years of business.  However, he reported that they are at a standstill with mental health for the region.

Johnson and Jackson both stated for the core services provided by Genesis Development doesn’t include work development for people with mental health issues which means the counties aren’t required to pay for it.

Jackson said that Greene County will sign on with the state legislature’s 28E agreement with the Department of Human Services on July 1, 2014.

Johnson then told the Supervisors that this past July, Magellan Health Services took over habilitation services.  Plus, as of July 1st, people who lived in a previous county not supportive of the program, then that county pays for them.

He finished his update by telling the Board that they are looking for investors of three homes to rehabilitate and the owner would receive 8-12% return from their investment.  Anyone interested must call Genesis for more details.

The Board then voted to table the discussion on drainage district 110 branch 6 improvement project and took no final action on the topic.

County Engineer Wade Weiss updated the Board on a few different projects.

He asked the Board to switch one of his purchases that he’s budgeting for next year from a tractor-trailer to a dump truck.  He also reported that the E-57 bridge is about another month away from being completed, plus there are continuing road patching projects all around the county for the rest of the summer.
