February72011IACity-Chamber-fullU.S. Senator Tom Harkin is sending a member of his staff to Adair County on Friday, August 30th to speak about how people can improve economic security, especially those preparing for retirement.

John Moreland will host a mobile office with local residents at the Greenfield Public Library & City Hall from 10 to 11 a.m. to share ideas about Harkin’s Universal, Secure, and Adaptable (“USA”) Retirement Fund, a measure proposed by the Democratic Senator that would rebuild the private pension system by establishing a new privately-run retirement plan that has similar flexibility and ease for employers of a 401(k).

Harkin’s staff plan to visit all 99 counties in Iowa during this mobile tour.

Other initiatives Moreland will discuss with residents include The Healthy Families Act, The Fair Minimum Wage Act and The Rebuilding American Manufacturing Act of 2013.
