photo (60)Three to four thousand people are expected to make their way to Perry this weekend to take part in the Fly Iowa festivities.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bob Wilson says preparations have been underway for several months now and there are many activities planned.

“We’re gonna kick it off Friday night, there’s a show and shine car show down on 2nd Street.  They’re just going to pull up about 100, 150 cars, come down, peruse the streets.  There’s going to be a couple kids activities I believe, as well as a train exhibit inside the Carnegie Library” says Wilson.

The theme of the event is Planes, Trains and Automobiles and all three will be well showcased during the two day event, with the highlight being the free air show Saturday afternoon.

Plus it’s another chance to show a new group of visitors what kind of things Perry has to offer.

“Just another great way to showcase our beautiful town, and hopefully they’ll put some money into it while they’re here” says Wilson.

We’ll talk with more Fly Iowa organizers on Let’s Talk Dallas County later on this week.
