Planes, Trains and Automobiles will be featured in Perry this weekend as the town hosts its first Fly Iowa event.
City Administrator Butch Niebuhr says it’s a great opportunity for Perry and the event should prove to be both educational and entertaining. The festivities kick off Friday night.
“With the car show downtown Friday night, Friday fest going on, get the chance to meet the pilots – they’ll be downtown at the car show, well also have the final draft of the (comprehensive) plan on display at the Town Craft Building in the gallery and we hope to get some comments on that” says Niebuhr.
Plus Saturday will be packed with activities as well.
“We’ll have Chris Cakes doing breakfast in the morning from 7-9, then there will be a static display of planes, World War II era planes and a lot of the planes that we have that are housed at Perry, including a couple jets. So that will be interesting for the citizens to see and then the air show starting up around noon and going until 2, 2:30.
Niebuhr encourages everyone to come check out the free event. It looks like the weather should cooperate and it’s another great opportunity to show off Perry’s hospitality.
