The Dallas County Conservation Board has changed the time of their Prairie Awakening Celebration next month.
Instead of 5-9pm as previously announced the event has been moved up to 3-8pm.
The annual event will include music, drums, dance and stories of Iowa’s first peoples to the land. This year’s featured tribe is the Meskwaki Nation. Attendees will be able to step inside the stories of the Meskwaki Native Americans and get an idea of how they used the land here in Dallas County.
Attendees should plan to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating and an evening meal will be available for purchase, with proceeds going to support the celebration.
It takes place Saturday September 7th at the Kuehn Conservation Area near Earlham. The event is free and no registration is required. For more information call 465-3577.
