The City of Panora is almost finished with their 2013 Stormwater Improvement Project.
City Administrator Lisa Grossman says there was no storm water system in place whatsoever before the project, which is common for older towns like Panora. The new improvements will help alleviate flooding and puddle build up, which was common during heavy rains in the northern part of town.
Grossman says all pipes of have been laid in the town’s residential district and all that is left on the project is a couple more concrete pours.
Local residents will help subsidize the project through payment of stormwater utilities fees.
