It’s another night full of free fun in Perry this evening.
The final Friday Fest of the summer takes place in Pattee Park, starting at 6:30pm. Hearts of Heathens, featuring Perry’s own Brendon McKnight, kick off the live music at the band shell, followed by Jason Walsmith and the Lamplighters.
Perry Area Chamber of Commerce executive director Bob Wilson says the event continues to follow the same format as past Friday Fests with vendors on-site but residents are also encouraged to bring their own basket.
Best part is, there’s no cost to attend thanks to donations from area businesses. He says the event is completely sponsor driven and is a “no brainer” event that just aims to celebrate Perry.
In addition to Friday Fest, there will be a car show downtown as part of Fly Iowa’s Planes, Trains and Automobiles theme, along with a meet and greet with the pilots and a train exhibit at the Carnegie Library. These are also free events and all are invited to attend.
