Despite the fact Lake Panorama security is working to get geese and the unwanted bacteria from their droppings away from areas of high human use, the lake’s beaches still remain safe for activity, including the upcoming popular Labor Day Weekend.
Water quality at each of Lake Panorama’s three beaches was tested last week, and each beach tested well under the safe limits for bacteria. The water quality level at the beaches is tested each week during the swimming season.
There is colony forming bacteria appearing at each of the beaches, but those planning to spend some of the Labor Day Weekend in the water have no reason to be alarmed. Shady Beach tested at colony forming bacteria levels under 10, Boulder at 85 and Sunset at 97. Swimming and other water contact recreation activities are not recommended at counts of 235 or more.
The lake association has deemed it safe to swim and enjoy the lake this weekend.
