It took a full month, but the Greene County High school volleyball team opened the 2013 season in Jefferson on Thursday night with a 25-12, 25-8, 25-18 victory over Colfax-Mingo. The Rams, one of the last teams in the state to begin the season, trailed 3-1 in game one, then took a 4-3 lead and did not trail the rest of the match. C-M fell to 0-3 in matches and 0-7 in games. The match was the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference opener for both teams.

Coach Donna Carhill’s Rams play in Eldora on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the South Hardin Tournament.
