2013_0916 - East ApproachText Retaining (2)The Greene County Medical Center Board of Trustees met yesterday.

Chief Financial Officer Mark VanderLinden gave his financial report to the Board.  He said that both inpatient and outpatient numbers were down for the month of August by 37% and 8% respectively.  Admissions numbers were 32 for August and they are 25% behind their projections for the year-to-date numbers.

VanderLinden also reported that there’s a 47% reduction last month in overtime and they are 57% better than last year’s numbers at this same for employee overtime.

According to an adjustment report done by WPS Health Insurance, they showed the hospital owing $413,520 in Medicare and $82,328 in Medicad for the fiscal year 2012 when an audit was done.  The process is being appealed at this time, but the hospital will keep allocating the money to UnityPoint.

Representatives from HGA Architects and Stockton Facilities Management gave an expansion project update to the Board.  They showed updated drawings and conceptual sketches of what the expansion will look like including the main entrance, surgery, pharmacy and helicopter pad.  It was reported that the total cost for the project is estimated over $22,483,000 which is $16,000 under the original budget.

Chief Executive Officer Carl Behne received approval from the Board to get bids on a new staff parking lot project to add another 75 spaces to the northwest corner of the existing lot.
