There were only slight changes in the area’s unemployment figures last month.

According to Iowa Workforce Development, Dallas County’s unemployment rate increased by 0.2% in August to 4%.  Greene County saw a 0.3% decrease to 4.7%  drop and there was no change in Guthrie County.

All three areas are down at least 0.4% compared to August of 2012.

Overall, Iowa’s unemployment rate increased slightly from 4.8% in July to 4.9% in August, while the national unemployment rate is currently 7.3%.
