Two dozen different projects in Dallas County will be able to move forward thanks to financial awards from the Dallas County Foundation.
The Foundation awarded more than $91,000 in grants to the various causes at their annual banquet this week.
Three of the awards went to Perry, including $5,383 to the Perry Volunteer Fire Department to equip their emergency all-terrain vehicle that responds to accidents and fires along the Raccoon River Valley Trail.
The Perry School District received $2,500 to update the hardcover book collection in the Dr. Eugene Brady Library at the high school and the Dallas County Hospital Foundation was awarded $1,000 to create an indoor walking trail for patients.
Other grants went to organizations like the Adel DeSoto Minburn School District, the Redfield Lions Club, Granger Parks and Recreation Board and AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport.
Grant winners are selected by the foundation’s board of directors, who select causes that benefit arts and culture, health, human services, community betterment, education and historic preservation.
