droughtDallas and Guthrie Counties were able to get some rain this past week, but there’s no significant changes in the overall drought conditions.

All of Dallas County and most of Guthrie County are now classified as in a moderate drought.  The northwest portion of Guthrie County and the majority of Greene County are still experiencing severe drought conditions and the northwest part of Greene County is still in an extreme drought.

Guthrie County managed to surpass the normal monthly rainfall total in just the first week of October, registering 2.73 inches so far.

Perry has received more than two inches of rain, just four tenths below the normal monthly amount.  And Jefferson has two full inches of rain yet to go in order to meet their monthly average of 2.44 inches.

There is a chance of rain tonight and Sunday night, going into the Columbus Day holiday.
