Fire Chief Gary Fox encourages local residents to come out and check out the department’s new equipment and to have all their fire prevention questions answered.  The event begins at 5:30pm and will run until 8 o’clock.

Aside from making sure your smoke detectors have fresh batteries and are up-to-date, Fox has one more fire safety tip for families with children as we end National Fire Prevention Week.  He asks that families devise a two-way exit plan from their homes in the case a fire occurs.  It’s also important to agree to a meeting point once you’re out of the house.

Fox says he hopes he can help people prevent fires before they ever have to use their exit plans.

Free-will offerings and donations will be accepted at tomorrow’s event, and Fox says he’s grateful for the continued support from everyone in the Stuart community.
