stuart cityThe Stuart City Council meets tonight for its October meeting at 6:30pm in City Hall.

Tom Smull of Associations Inc. will begin tonight’s meeting by asking the Council for an extension on the Stuart Old Hotel deadline.  November 1st was the date the first floor renovation of the hotel was to be completed and operational.  And while Smull says the first floor is finished, the entire building has to be renovated so contractors can qualify for historic tax credits.  Smull will ask for an extension to December 15th so that the entire hotel can complete renovation.

The Council will then decide on whether or not to adopt Guthrie County’s multi-jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan.

Next on the agenda, the Council will be asked to approve the seventh pay estimate for the Wambold Project, this one totaling just over $124,000.  If approved, there will be just one payment remaining for the project.

Mayor Dick Cook will then appoint Matthew Krantz to the Stuart Historic Preservation Commission.  Krantz will be the second addition to the Commission in as many months.

Finally, Cook will set the official date for this year’s Beggar’s Night.  The trick-or-treat night is expected to be set for Thursday, October 31st.
