This Thursday, youngsters will be in downtown Jefferson for “Trick-Or-Treat Around The Square”.
In conjunction with the 5-6pm event which includes 20 sponsors, the Jefferson Public Library and the Greene County Community Center will also have free activities.
From 4-5pm, kids 2 years-old through fifth grade and their parents can enjoy halloween games like pumpkin bowling and there will be facepainting, pumpkin decorating, kids zumba plus a lot more. Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says it’s a come and go event and every kid will receive a free bag of candy. Registration is at 3:45pm
She explains that this event seems to grow every year.
“We kick off the halloween part of the chamber. Each year, it seems to grow I believe we had close to 200 kids last year. It’s a lot of fun, it’s a safe party, kids can dress up and sometimes staff dresses up. You just never know what you’re going to find at the rec center.”
Then from 5-7pm the Jefferson Library invites everyone to it’s halloween-themed party called, “Look Out, Troll Bridge Ahead”. It is the next chapter from the Three Billy Goats Gruff. It is a family-friends, come and go event with lots of entertainment.
All three events are free and the public is invited to enjoy a night full of family fun and entertainment in Jefferson on Thursday evening.
