Greene County Medical Center’s Chief Executive Officer Carl Behne recently received a young executive achievement award.

The annual award was presented to Behne at the Iowa Hospital Association’s fall conference earlier this month.  He was nominated by the medical center’s executive board which consists of Chief Financial Officer Mark VanderLinden,  Christa Simons, Support Services; Joan Overby, Outpatient Services and Clinics; Cindy Kail, CNO; and Roger Overby, Information Technology.

Since becoming CEO in July 2012, Behne has held his staff and employees to high standards of accountability.  He holds monthly small group chats and conducts forums with all employees every quarter.  He also challenges his employees to continually improve patient care and personal performance.

The executive directors agree that Behne’s long working hours and his ability to improve staff morale and building community pride led them to nominate him for the award.
