The 35th annual William Bell Memorial Tuba and Euphonium Day clinic and concert will once again take place in Perry next month.

Duane Griffin with Perry Fine Arts says the yearly event is held in memory of one of the most well-known tuba players of his day, plus he has ties to and is buried in Perry.

The day includes more than just a concert, it’s an interactive opportunity for those who want to join in on the fun.  Local musicians will have the chance to join the ensemble and perform during the public concert that afternoon.

This year’s clinician will be Master Sergeant Alex Serwatowski of the U.S. Air Force who is the primary tubist with the Heartland of American Band stationed in Omaha, NE.

Those interested in being part of the ensemble for the event are asked to register at 12:30pm Saturday, November 2nd.  Participants should bring their instrument, a music stand and registration fee of $10 for students and $15 for adults.  Rehearsals will take place from 1-3pm followed by a master class and the public concert at 4:00.
