Jefferson’s city-wide fall clean up is next week.

City Administrator Mike Palmer says the bi-annual event will happen Monday through Thursday on your normal garbage day.  He explains what they City will provide for free to residents.

“For free, we’ll pick up one hopper load, which is on the back of the trash truck and we’ll crush it once and then anything beyond one hopper load is $25 per crush.”

Items that won’t be accepted are tires, paints or any other toxic materials.

Palmer notes that any appliances such as dishwashers or televisions will incur an extra charge on a resident’s water bill.  Yard waste such as leaves and brush will also be included but not necessarily on the same day as your normal garbage pickup.
