The 3rd Annual Zombie Run will be on Monday at Daubendiek Park in Jefferson.
Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says it’s for fifth through eighth grade kids. She comments that this event was first brought to Jefferson by Libby Towers, the assistant director. During the first year, Lautner adds that they had some Ankeny kids participate.
She explains what the kids will have to do during the one-mile race.
“Participants must complete the set obstacle course without being caught by the zombies. And that is always a fun run, the high school kids help us out, they are the zombies. So come out and join us, it’s great fun.”
Registration is from 4:45-5:15pm at Daubendiek Park and the race begins at 5:30pm on Monday. There is a $10 fee for each participant. Call the Greene County Community Center at 386-3412 for more information.
