While the high school football playoffs begin tonight with Greene County hosting North Polk (Alleman) in Jefferson, the Greene County High School volleyball and cross-country teams continue their postseason runs.

The Rams play a Class 3A Region 3 volleyball semifinal at third rated Kuemper Catholic in Carroll tomorrow night. The 7 p.m. match at Kuemper Catholic High School will have the highly rated Knights hosting the 15-16 Rams. The match will be broadcast on KG98 with coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m.

The girls’ cross-country team from Greene County continues preparations for the Class 2A State Meet race on Saturday, Nov. 2 north of Ft. Dodge at Kennedy Park.  Coach Kelly Simpson’s Rams run at 1 p.m. Saturday. They earned a trip to State, the first for a Ram team since 2005, with a second place finish last Thursday at the Panorama (Panora) State Qualifying meet. The host Panorama Panthers placed first at that meet and will be in Saturday’s 2A girls’ field as well.
