With Thanksgiving and Christmas drawing ever closer, the Guthrie County Extension and Outreach Office asks that people consider saving up their food and donating to local pantries so that all area residents can enjoy quality meals during the holiday time.

That’s certainly what the Office will be trying to accomplish over the next couple of months as it has begun accepting donations for the local food pantry at New Opportunities in Guthrie Center.  This is the Office’s second year supporting a food drive, and like last year a box has been set up in the office for non-perishable items.  Those items will be taken throughout both Thanksgiving and Christmas time.

Once the box is full, the Office will deliver the items to the food pantry and begin filling additional boxes.   Anyone with questions about the Office’s food pantry drive can call them at 641-747-2276.
