The Greene County High School fall play is this weekend in Jefferson.
The play is called “Born To Be Wild” and it features ten different skits and 16 young actors and actresses. Director Darren Jackson says since this play is so unique with ten different stories, the interlocking theme is that all the characters are animals.
He states that because there’s so much happening in this production he wanted to keep everything else simple.
“We are going very minimalistic. With the help of Clay Ross, we put the sets, we build them into boxes that are on wheels and we are just going to turn them to be the different sets.”
He comments that the magic is in the cast which includes mostly freshmen and sophomores. Since they’ve started rehearsing after Labor Day, Jackson notes that all the kids are very teachable.
“I’ve never had kids that are so easy to direct and have so many of their own good ideas and are just so natural on stage.”
“Born To Be Wild” will be in the high school auditorium this Friday and Saturday at 7pm. Tickets are $1 for students and $5 for everyone else.
