Halloween lovers in Perry have many options to celebration this afternoon and evening.
Starting with the Chamber of Commerce’s annual Spooktacular event from 4-6pm, Executive Director Bob Wilson invites everyone to downtown Perry.
“We’re encouraging all the local businesses, even if you’re not on 2nd street, come down and put up a table or just bring a bucket of candy. We get about 1,000 to 1,200 kids come through this thing and it’s fun, it’s in the daylight, it’s corded off so traffic is non-existent, it’s safe and it’s just another great way to get people back downtown” says Wilson.
And while kids are collecting candy, area organizations and businesses will be handing out information and showcasing their shops so Wilson encourages everyone to support our local merchants.
“Celebrate those businesses, and while you’re there eat at a restaurant, check the store out that you may not have visited lately. It’s just a good way to get everybody out on the streets and having a good time celebrating Halloween” says Wilson.
Dallas County Hospital will once again be hosting their Safe and Healthy Halloween event from 5-6:30 tonight and if you haven’t had enough treats after that, the city-wide trick or treating event happens from 6-8pm throughout Perry.
The Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio will also be downtown Perry during the Spooktacular event providing a Halloween themed soundtrack for all to enjoy.
